Soil Testing
Designed to help build soil structure, address field limitations and meet nutritional needs for future crops. We provide both organic and integrated recommendations.
Biologically Integrated and Organic Systems
We have developed the BIOS crop program to provide scientifically based information on sustainable farming to help the ever increasing number of farmers looking for cost effective ways to grow sustainably.
We provide the following services:
The modern farmer is being bombarded with "organic" fertilisers, many of which are unsuitable or far too expensive for the results they achieve. Organic Farming Systems has a range of products that are suitable for growing all crops sustainably.

BIOS Soil Testing provides the basis for managing soil efficiently. It is designed to help build soil structure, address field limitations and meet nutritional needs for future crops.
The best place to start is with a soil analysis report. The most important part of this is the information on the percentage base saturation of cations. Soil Nutrient Balance is very important, even more than high nutrient levels! You can have high NPK levels, and plants can still starve because of unbalanced soil cations.
Good soil reports should list all the important cations, their desired levels and the levels your soil achieved. Recommendations should then be made to you on what you need to add to balance your soil.
BIOS Soil Reports give sustainable and integrated recommendations.
If you would like us to provide sustainable recommendations on your current soil results, email us with your results.
One simple cost-effective way of ensuring the nutrients in the soil are being absorbed by the plant in appropriate levels is to analyse the plant tissue every year.
If taken early in the growing season this analysis combined with our expert interpretation will give growers peace of mind regarding the nutritional health of their crop.
BIOS Plant Tissue Analysis allows the grower to determine if the chosen fertiliser program is adequate and provides the opportunity to fine-tune the fertiliser inputs in the current season.
Predict nutrient problems before they cause production losses.
At Organic Farming Systems we have developed sustainable nutrient programs for a range of horticultural crops including vegetables, pome and stone fruit, olives, strawberries, tomatoes, walnuts and wine grapes. Growers have found these programs particularly useful as they provide a straightforward guide to obtaining crop performance using biological systems whilst improving soil health.
